Membership Benefits

Many groups are now buying and installing or having installed thier own equipment and often ask whether they should stay a member of SDCN, below are a few of the advantages of maintaining your membership:


Projectionist Training

The Suffolk Digital Cinema Network continues to provide projectionist training for any new members of your team or anyone already trained who would like a refresher course, all paid for by SDCN. For dates check the training page in the members' area of this website


Automatic Event 'Insurance'

Network members who own their own equipment but stay members can continue to borrow any of our digital projection equipment. If your equpiment becomes faulty or damaged, you simply book the equipment from your nearest venue in the normal way and your back in business. When you consider projector hire alone would cost you at least £80 a day then the yearly membership fee is soon covered and of course you can borrow equipment as many times as you need until your kit is fully functional again.


Access to Assistance

The services of our enginereeing/services company, Trevor Allchin Technical Services, are available to your group at SDCN rates (under half price) for all your repairs and installation requirements, in fact for any of your sound or lighting needs. Plus if you projectionist is unavailable or your equipment fails for any reason they can be booked, often at very short notice, to help you out. As you would expect they have access to all the SDCN equipment plus their own. (Panic Line number 07918020239 - 24 hour coverage) Please note: They carry full liablity insurance and are CRB approved.


Avertising

As you have seen our web site front screen is now a cartoon and can advertise your event, simply put the details in the booking system as normal using the 'advertise only' booking diary and when the front screen is shown your event is then randomly advertised along with all the rest. (availible from January 2010)


Membership Costs

The annual Membership cost is £25, payable each May, but this is only charged if your group has borrowed equipment in the last year, so often membership for the year for 'Self Owners' is in fact free
