- Before seeking advice make the following basic checks:
- Are all power switches on, check projector, amplifier and DVD - and is the wall socket switched on?
- Are power leads and plugs - and sound, video and speaker leads - fully inserted into their respective sockets?
- No image on screen? Check that the DVD is inserted in the DVD player (and the right way up). Check that the correct input for the signal to the projector has been selected using the circular knob on the top (S-video for DVD, DVI for a laptop). Check that the projector bulb is lit.
- Image too big/small? Adjust to correct size using zoom, rotating the lens using the knurled knob on the lens.
- Image out of focus? Adjust focus using outer end ring on lens. Make sure you hold the zoom knob in place as you do this.
- Image distorted? Check that the DVD is set up to show the film in the correct ratio (4:3, widescreen, 16:9, etc). This can be changed by using the DVD player's remote control. The aspect button on the video projector remote also changes the ratio.
- DVD stopping/jumpy? Clean shiny side of DVD with a soft cotton cloth to remove any marks. Use CD/DVD head cleaner in machine.
- No sound? Check that the two marked knobs (directly above each input) are set to 7 ('2pm'). Check that the main volume controls for left and right speakers are turned up.
- Sound distorted? Adjust bass and treble using the amplifier's graphic equaliser.
